Exhibits 2024–2025
The Hillsdale College art department hosts 3-4 Professional Artist Series exhibits each academic year in the Fine Art Building's, Daughtrey Gallery. Exhibited work typically reflects media taught within the art department and echos the traditional values espoused in its mission. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
After Promontory: 150 Years of
Transcontinental Railroading
Wednesday, August 28th – Sunday, October 6th
To mark the 150th anniversary of the beginning of America’s railroad era, the Center for Railroad Photography & Art has launched a special project, After Promontory: 150 Years of Transcontinental Railroading. The initiative includes a book, conference, and traveling exhibitions that examine the significance and lasting impact of the transcontinental railroads on the American West.

Anthony Frudakis Sculpture - Hillsdale College Faculty
Professional Artist Series

A nationally recognized sculptor, Frudakis chooses to work in a modern, representational, yet classical mode, drawing inspiration from his Greek heritage and the genius of the Golden Age of Greek sculpting. Bronze figures, both human and animal, are his milieu. His works grace both private and public collections

Authentic design is brought to life by infusing color, texture, shapes, and personal details. Each of these infusions become a muse for the graphic designer, whether created digitally or by hand. Brian Shaw has curated a body of personal work to highlight his understanding and relationship with each one, a body of work that also celebrates his new faculty position in Hillsdale College’s art department.

On June 8, 1927, Edward Sherriff Curtis, accompanied by daughter Beth Curtis and newly employed Stewart C. Eastwood, set sail on the steamer ship Victoria towards Nome, Alaska. The purpose of their voyage was to complete the photography and research for the final, 20th volume of Curtis’s masterwork, The North American Indian.
